Midwifery care with Inner Serenity is a cooperative care
experience.
We will work together as a team through your pregnancy,
birth and postpartum to provide comprehensive care to Your family.
Pregnancy and birth are natural and healthy life processes. I believe that many women know how to give birth and can birth safely and naturally in the comfort of their own homes.
As your midwife I will provide you with and encourage you to seek out the information and you need to make informed choices about the care you receive.
My mission is to support you and your family in having the best birthing experience possible.
In your own home you are able to give birth on your own terms, with no other persons agenda. You are free from unnecessary interventions
You have the freedom to do as you like, move as you like, surrounded by people of your choosing;
You are able to birth your baby into your own hands or the hands of your partner without interference and your baby remains safe in your arms,
At Inner Serenity you birth how you want to birth. In water or out, Alone or with Family.
I believe each mother intuitively makes the right decisions for herself and her baby.
I believe pregnancy and birth are a sacred journey that all women have the right to experience naturally and on their own terms.
Prenatal Care:
I offer relaxed and unrushed prenatal care in my home office and your home throguhout your pregnancy
* Monthly visits until 30-32 weeks
* Biweekly visits until 36 weeks
* Weekly Visits until Birth
Complete nutritional counseling, herbal care, prenatal counseling, all medical labwork and tests are offered as needed.
Labor and Birth:
I will be available by phone 24/7 from 35 weeks till your birth and after.
During early labor we will frequently check in and when labor is more active or when you need my support I will come to you. I will stay with you through the birth and several hours postpartum, assuring that you are comfortable and nourished.
Postpartum Care:
After your birth I will be visiting you and your baby within 24 hours and then 3 days later in your home.
Postpartum care continues for you and your baby through the first 6 weeks in my home office

Breastfeeding Support:
I believe that optimal nutrition for babies is found at their mothers breast and support woman throughout pregnancy and postpartum to have a successful breastfeeding relationship with their baby.
Hello My name is Tia, Rich and I am a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife).
I am a mother to three and a grandmother to two. Serving birthing woman has always been important to me and Home birth Midwifery care is the best manner in which I can effectively give woman a chance of a safe non-interventive birth. I have personally experienced both a highly interventive medical birth and a non-interventive holistic gentle birth.
I have educated myself several times which have resulted in 2 degree's, the first in Behavioral Sciences, the second in Nursing. I become and RN and worked in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Pediatrics and Oncology. While I personally choose to never work within the hospital setting again, I learned valuable lessons and skills in the training and work that I did as an RN. I find this a valuable assest in those rare opportunities that medical care is needed for my clients,. I feel comfortable supporting them in this change of setting for their birth.
I began seeking a path to re-educate as a Midwife in 2000 after the birth of my third child. I began by teaching Childbirth education, then working as a Doula and later as a Montrice. I became a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist specializing in teaching Hypnobirthing. In 2007 I began to formally study Midwifery taking a couple years to get the didactic book studies under my belt before beginning a hands on apprenticeship.
In 2009 I began an intense apprenticeship at the Andaluz Water birth center that spanned Over a year and a half and over 76 births.
I am certified in neonatal resuscitation and infant and adult CPR. I am a member of the Oregon Midwifery Council (OMC) a statewide group set with the goal of bringing safe birthing options to all families.
I work cooperatively with another Midwife who works in her own practice. We support each other to give our clients the benefit of two experienced midwives. I also fully support the model of aprpenticeship training for midwifery students, and may have a student assisting me in your care .
I offer appointments in my office and in your home.
